Notarization

  • Acknowledgment (per signature) $15

  • Jurat (per signature) $15

  • Oath or Affirmation (connected to a jurat) Included in jurat fee

  • Certified Copy of Power of Attorney $15

  • Deposition $30 flat (not per page)

  • Immigration Document Set $15 per person, per set

Important: Fees are charged per signature, not per document. A document with 3 signers requiring acknowledgment = up to $45 total in state notary fees.

  • Orange County — $35 -$90

  • Los Angeles County — from $50–$90

What you’ll need for notarization

To have a document notarized in California, please have the following ready:

  • A Valid, Unexpired (or issued within the last 5 years) Photo ID

  • Acceptable primary ID includes:

  • California driver’s license or ID card (DMV-issued)

  • U.S. passport or passport card

  • If you don’t have one of the above, the following secondary IDs are acceptable only if they include a photo, physical description, signature, and ID number:

  • Out-of-state driver’s license or state ID card

  • Canadian or Mexican driver’s license

  • U.S. military ID card

  • Valid foreign passport

  • Employee ID issued by a California state, city, or county agency

  • Federally recognized tribal government ID

  • Consular ID card issued by your country of citizenship

  • Inmate ID (CDCR or county sheriff’s department, for individuals in custody)

Note: Digital/mobile driver’s licenses are generally not accepted for notarization in California — please bring a physical ID.
